Wordcloud for Journal Issues
For APS Journals
This program will allow the user to select any complete issue for any of PRA-E, PRL, PRX, PR back to 1894, and Rev. Mod. Phys, journals and create a wordcloud, like the one shown above, for it. The user will have control of the colormap and the background color as well as the option to eliminate words
The setup files is contained in this zip file:
After downloading run WordcloudAPS_Installer.exe. This will allow you to choose the directory for the installation. Due to some techinical issues with pyinstaller and the wordcloud python package, I was not able to create a single executable file. You can run the program with the WordcloudMDPI.exe file located in your designated installation directory.
The same technical difficulty did not allow me to hide the console so you will see that pop-up first but the GUI window will open shortly thereafter.
For MDPI Journals
This program will allow the user to select any complete issue for any of the 418 MDPI journals and create a wordcloud, like the one shown above, for it. The user will have control of the colormap and the background color as well as the option to eliminate words

Furthermore, the ACS table of contents page cannot be scraped as easily as the APS or MDPI pages. I had to take a different approach which has made this version of the program less robust. For, one, you must have Google Chrome installed. Second, it won't alert you if you have a journal, volume, issue, mismatch. Chrome will lauch so you can observe whether or not the correct table of contents pages is beeing called.
